Sixteen-year-old Michelle Sung Wie bogeyed the opening three holes at the Women's British Open being played at Lytham St. Annes, England. Michelle Sung Wie did manage to birdie the last holes for a two over par 74 in the first round. While Juli Inkster shot a 6-under 66 to take a three-shot lead in the opening round. Maria Horth and Silvia Cavalleri are tied for second with 69s. Annika Sorenstam finished with a double-bogey, bogey to get to even-par 72. Wie has sponsorship contracts with Nike Inc. and Sony Corp. The Honolulu schoolgirl next month will become the second female to play in a men's European Tour.
